About the Inventor.

Raymond Brooks, the Managing Director of Raymond Brooks Holdings Pty. Limited, has been involved in the paint industry for more than forty years. He was born in England in 1928, and like many others of his vintage had an interrupted school life, living close to London during the Second World War. He was called up just as the war ended and spent his National Service in Egypt. His first introduction to the paint industry was in Canada, where he had migrated in 1950.

In 1965 Mr. Brooks came to Australia, and began his own paint manufacturing company. In the ensuing thirty years, he has specialised in producing high quality long life coatings for the architectural and industrial markets.

For many years he has worked on insulation membranes, which would reduce the internal temperature of a building. To this end, he has been exceptionally successful, his product Insultec has now been used on over one and a half million square metres of roofs and walls in Australia, the Middle East, the South Pacific Islands and a number of Asian countries.

Although past the age of retirement, Mr. Brooks continues to work in the field of research. He is currently continuing to further the range of Insultec related products, and recognises the need for continuing innovation in the diverse field of paint technology, his interest extending as far afield as to the development of an inexpensive lightweight permanently waterproof concrete.

During his career, Mr. Brooks has made many friends and associates in his chosen vocation and is well respected for his innovative contribution to the industry. He became an Australian citizen in 1983 and lives with his family on a small farmlet near Dubbo in rural New South Wales.
